On this page we provide examples for how to cite the Dog Aging Project in several cases, including 1) acknowledging the Dog Aging Project and its funding sources in a research manuscript; 2) acknowledging the specific curated release of data used in analysis; and 3) citing the Terra workspace in which the data is housed (workspace), and on which data can be analyzed (workflow).
1. Acknowledgements within narrative portions of manuscripts based on DAP data:
All manuscripts must reference funding using this text:
This research is based on publicly available data collected by the Dog Aging Project, under U19 grant AG057377 (PI: Daniel Promislow) from the National Institute on Aging, a part of the National Institutes of Health, and by additional grants and private donations, including generous support from the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research, the Tiny Foundation Fund at Myriad Canada, and the WoodNext Foundation. These data are housed on the Terra platform at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
All manuscripts using DAP data must cite the specific data release using the citation format below (or modified as necessary to fit the required journal style) AND include the following text somewhere in the methods section:
The Dog Aging Project is an open data project. These data are available to the general public at dogagingproject.org/open_data_access.
2. Citation for specific data release utilized:
Citation format:
